Dave Kinsey
Dave Kinsey is a contemporary artist and designer known for his dynamic, abstract compositions that explore themes of identity, environmentalism, and social justice. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1971, Kinsey studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh before moving to California in the mid-1990s to pursue his career as an artist.
Kinsey's work blends elements of street art, graffiti, and traditional fine art techniques, resulting in a style that is both raw and refined. He frequently incorporates found materials such as vintage paper, old book covers, and street posters into his work, giving it a sense of history and depth.
Throughout his career, Kinsey has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He has also collaborated with numerous brands and organizations, such as Nike, Vans, and the United Nations.
In addition to his visual art practice, Kinsey is also the founder and creative director of BLK/MRKT, a design studio and art gallery based in Los Angeles. With his diverse range of artistic pursuits and dedication to social and environmental causes, Dave Kinsey continues to be a major figure in the contemporary art world.
