Denial

Daniel Joseph Bombardier is a Canadian pop/mural artist whose aerosol and stencil art works examine and critique current politics, capitalism, consumerism and in society. Bombardier attended local high schools including Forster and Walkerville Collegiate. His artistic career began in 1999 when he became involved in the street art movement. That same year Bombardier adopted the alter ego ‘DENIAL’ as a means of mocking current politics and media that society is often ‘in denial’. His studio Fiveten StudioFiveten Design Factory is located in downtown Windsor. DENIAL has painted or curated around 40 murals in Windsor, as well as internationally. His work includes an ongoing international street-campaign of over 500, 000 stickers, signs and murals, using the alpha-numeric characters ‘D3N!@L’. Mocking current marketing strategies, DENIAL also challenges traditional concepts of graffiti and public art through his dynamic and often satirical pop art. DENIAL’s works defy the detached consumerism society accepts today by using comedic artistic expression, and provocative imagery.
